Why is Kevin Durant NOT Wearing the Number 35?

Hey basketball fans! Kevin Durant has been wearing the number 35 throughout his career. So it was a surprise to everyone when he announced that he would be wearing the number 7! Why is Kevin Durant not wearing the number 35 on the nets? Has something changed?

Kevin Durant is a top 10 maybe top 5 player in the NBA. The one thing he has never changed on any team was the number he wore, the number 35, that was until this season on his first year on the Brooklyn Nets. He wore the number 35 because of one of his friends. Quote from Kevin Durant, "35 was chosen in honor of someone very near and dear to me. I will always honor him and honor the number 35,” that was until the 2019-2020 season.

So Kevin Durant changed his number to 7, lets get into why. Durant says he’s decided to wear No. 7 in Brooklyn because it stands for completion in the Bible. (God rested on the seventh day after creating Heaven and Earth.) Clearly the completion of his career is on his mind. He said that this was also a one time thing so maybe he is going to leave them, or change his number back.
